Hoosier Beat set to produce official fan t-shirt for Basketball season. Hoosierbeat.com will be producing the official fan t-shirt for the upcoming basketball season. This year we have added new items to the Sampsonite collection. We have extended the collection to include a grey Sampsonite t-shirt with crimson print and a white Sampsonite t-shirt with crimson print. We have also added a red sweat shirt with cream distressed printing along with a grey sweat shirt with crimson distressed printing. The original t-shirt in crimson with SAMPSONITE printed over a basketball in cream is still available The shirt may be purchased for $10 at hoosierbeat.com. The t-shirt is also being sold at T.I.S., Steve & Barry’s, and Haley’s Boutique. Hoosier Beat has teamed up with the Business Careers in Entertainment Club to sell the T-shirts on campus. The term SAMPSONITE is the name that Coach Sampson’s fans will have adopted. Hoosier nation will become the SAMPSONITES. Similar to how Michigan State fans are called the Izzone’s, Indiana fans will be called the SAMPSONITES. The companies goal is to have every IU fan wear the official fan t-shirt to every IU Hoosier basketball game. Company History:
Matthew Kesten founded Hoosierbeat.com in August 2006. Matthew Kesten designed the official fan t-shirt in August while contemplating ways to unify Hoosier fans. Matthew met with Coach Sampson and the two of them agreed the best design for the official fan t-shirt was SAMPSONITE. As of 11/9/06 nearly 1000 t-shirts have been sold. The release of the official fan t-shirt is the first of many efforts the company will be taking to connect Hoosier fans. Hoosierbeat.com is an online social network for Hoosier fans. The website currently has blogs, media forums, user profiles, and a messaging system to keep Hoosier fans in contact with each other. In the next month the website will add pictures and video to the site. Hoosierbeat.com will also be selling tickets to sporting events, concerts, and theater at low prices. The media forum will be an outlet for Hoosier fans to discuss Hoosier basketball and other Hoosier sports. Initially, there will be 2 blog writers. One blog will be dedicated to Sports business. Another blog will be dedicated to Hoosier basketball. There will be links to articles written by other publications, so Hoosier fans will be able to read all the stories about the Hoosiers that are in the news. Hoosierbeat.com will look to connect Indiana University alumni by having a special section of the website dedicated towards the alumni. The website will look to organize tailgate events for alumni to attend and also set up events outside of Indiana for IU alumni to network and socialize.
